Roman is an experimental hip hop artist from Cincinnati, Ohio. Roman started rapping in high school as a means of sparking theatrical rap beefs between friends. The positive response he received from classmates encouraged him to keep at it. Roman dropped out of Ohio State University after just one semester spent recording music in his dorm room and researching marijuana by means of personal inhalation. After moving to Los Angeles the following summer Roman’s creative interests expanded. He appeared in “Southland” on TNT, performed stand-up comedy at The Comedy Store, began working as a pop songwriter, landing big cuts like “Airplane pt. 2” on the BTS album “Love Yourself: Her” and their number 1 smash “Idol” with Nicki Minaj which broke Taylor Swift’s record for Most Views in 24 Hours on YouTube. Roman has been continuing to hone his own musical artistry all the while, collaborating primarily with Paul White, the U.K. based multi- instrumentalist hip-hop producer responsible for the bulk of production on Danny Brown’s critically acclaimed experimental rap album “Atrocity Exhibition”. Together, Roman and White create psychedelic and often cinematic sonic collages, with White blending sounds sourced from cultures all around the world and Roman providing a dynamic range of vocals, rapping singing and screaming his way through personal accounts of identity crisis in a city full of self-deception. Roman has also been developing his skills as a cartoonist and is committed to designing all of his own cover art.
