Afternoons
Afternoons
“When Afternoons burst onto the L.A. scene in 2008, you'd have thought there wasn't an arena big enough to hold them. An early song, "Say Yes," hit the radio, and Shepard Fairey designed a poster for it. The seven-piece collective went to work on more music, occasionally gathering to play exhilarating live shows and stoke the fires of anticipation for a proper release." - Kevin Bronson / LA Weekly

...Then came big name management and publishing, along with the requisite creative meddling and an unnecessary, unheralded name change. And just like that, much of the original mystique and momentum was lost.

Afternoons now returns with the songs and show they had envisioned all along. Sonically expansive yet textually concise. Starry-eyed at times, sardonic at others, and ever and always a mass spectacle.

Charlie started as the lead singer of a band called Rex Aquarium. They released two records and a 7", and then broke up in 2005. In 2006, Charlie released his first solo record, "Free Up Your Schedule" produced by Mike Andrews (Donnie Darko, Greyboy Allstars). In 2007, Charlie wrote two songs that were featured in the movie "Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story", a song called "Let's Duet" which he co-wrote with Benji Hughes, and "Guilty as Charged" which he co-wrote with Gus Seyffert. That year, he also had a song featured on the t.v. show "Men In Trees". In 2008, Charlie released a 4-song EP entitled, "In a Goldmine". He is currently recording his next full length record.
