The Diamond Light
The Diamond Light
Los Angeles based rock 'n' soul band The Diamond Light formed over long summers and weekly blues jams back in rural New Hampshire. Singer and guitarist Griffin Young began writing songs with drummer Ian Ochs almost ten years ago in Ian's father's band. Playing together in bars with their parents throughout high school, they eventually paired up with guitarist/vocalist Brian Stanley to form the final incarnation of The Diamond Light. In 2007, the band began to make their way West, with all of the members eventually landing in Southern California.

After many great TV placements and a celebrated self-titled full length album in 2013, The Diamond Light sold out their November residency at Los Angeles' storied venue, The Satellite. Riding a wave of recent success in their new home town, their newest EP "Vicious Visions" is due out in March 2015.
Wildling is a band you wouldn’t be scared to introduce to your parents. They also happen to write some of the most exciting and fresh songs we’ve heard in a long time…

The line up includes siblings Ryan and Justin Levine, who have been bunkmates since the very beginning, and Andrew Ampaya who has been making music with Ryan for over a decade since their major label stint with RCA. Rounding out the group is Los Angeles based producer/songwriter Erik Janson, whom Ryan met during a month long writing workshop with ASCAP. The two immediately clicked and began a writing and production partnership that helped focus the direction of Wildling's sound, drawing from Erik and Ryan's shared love of both classic songwriting, and the idea of creating unique sonic worlds for these songs to live in. Still looking for a drummer, the band began playing acoustic shows around Venice and Hollywood. Through a mutual friend the band was introduced to Casey Brothers (formerly of indie buzz band Cayucas), and after jamming together at Brother's studio for 10 hours straight, the line up was finalized.

For a band in it’s early stages, Wildling has made one thing clear; they know how to write songs, and they aren’t afraid to explore different production styles under the umbrella of “Indie” rock. From the huge, in-your-face chorus of "Hummingbird," to the dusty Atlantic soul inspired world of "Like You Do," this California 5-piece delivers songs that make a strong statement for an up-and-coming band. It is no surprise that they have already made an impression on Los Angeles' preeminent rock radio station, KROQ, spending 17 weeks in the top 5 and 6 weeks at #1 on esteemed DJ/Tastemaker Kat Corbett’s Locals Only show. Ryan Levine, also co-wrote and was a featured vocalist on the track "Trouble" used in the Entourage film trailer.

With traces of legends like Fleetwood Mac and Talking Heads, to current favorites such as The Black Keys and Young The Giant, it's easy to see why people are starting to talk about Wildling as a band to watch in 2015. They are currently working on their debut EP slated for release this year, and will head out on a North American tour as main support for Young The Giant. For now, get your fix by downloading "Hummingbird" and "Like You Do" on iTunes, the latter of which was recently featured on ABC's "Nashville."
