Mad Planet record release party

"The new Mad Planet EP is reflection of love and commitment. The tracks take a voyage into the ebbs and flows of human emotion – the highs, lows and every inkling in between. Though written through the eyes of Gillepsie’s personal experiences with bandmate Greg Gordon (The Nervous Return), the EP humanizes our most irrational feelings of elation and doubt and the ability to overcome our greatest fears which can lead to our greatest accomplishments. Mad Planet leads the listener into an intimate and relatable journey through the path Gillespe and Gordon have taken throughout their path as bandmates, as a couple and as soon-to-be husband and wife. Produced by Ethan Allen (The 88, Tricky, Gram Rabbit), the latest release departs slightly from the band’s trip-hop roots exposing layers of pulsating bass lines, sexy guitars and punchy drums which allow Cooper Gillespie’s (Bang Sugar Bang, co-creater of the Kiss or Kill movement) sultry vocals to float effortlessly above.
The lead track from the Mad Planet EP, Pieces of You, has won “Best Electronic Song” in the Malibu Music Awards and has also been nominated for “Best Alternative Song” by the Hollywood Music and Media Awards.
In 2010, the band’s debut album, All Elephants (2010), was a soulful exploration of loss and heartbreak that garnered the band critical acclaim and position in the CMJ Top 200 charts alongside bands such as Arcade Fire, Interpol and Of Montreal. Hot on the debut release’s heels, Mad Planet released the Gliese 581g EP which propelled them into touring throughout North America sharing the stage with the likes of Foster the People, Gram Rabbit and He’s My Brother She’s My Sister."

Ballerina Black

Ballerina Black's debut album, Cattle Arithmetic, a 'record that bleeds with energetic despair, pierced with shards of hope; in short, a hypnotic temper tantrum' is spreading rapidly after its mid 2011 release. The record has attracted a distribution deal with Universal's JDM records and the attention of several music publishers. Landing its singles on some of LA's most influential radio stations, as well as being premiered on Gossip Girl's seasons premier promo on MTV, among many others. Quickly they were booked at the best venues in Los Angeles, the highlight which was landing on stage at the Greek Theater opening for on of their longtime favorites, Interpol.
